My journey on Substack is tied to the writing I have discovered. I hope it guides me in the writing I do myself. We also get to happily stumble into each others via comments on perhaps like-minded posts. That is what brought me here. I scanned a couple of your posts and LOVE the cover photos. Finally, I found a Newsletter that shaades toward gneiss. I like that as I had a post a bit ago with it in the title. I will continue to scan a bit as time allows and hope to become a steady reader of your corner of Substack.

I will admit I'm mostly into gneiss for the pun of it, but I do have a geology degree and sometimes that subject creeps into my writing. So funny. Down in Southwestern Minnesota there is some gneiss dated to 3.5+ Billion years old. I just liked it for the PUN also! Turns out my post was named basalt and gneiss. It was actually about playing clay court tennis which is played on crushed metabasalt. I went a long way for the pun. Thanks for the longer description as I am sure now I will enjoy it. I loathe Total Eclipse of the Heart with a purple passion. A next-door neighbor in our duplex figured out to play songs on repeat on her CD player and it was sheer hell ALL DAY LONG with this song. If I ever meet Bright Eyes I'm going knock the shit out of them. That cover is hilarious!
