I enjoyed your google pix, Anne! It looked like you all had an excellent Darwin Day weekend! I'll be keeping this part of the coast in mind if we ever venture north.

I'm glad you liked them! Every town along the coast has it's own charms (and foibles). They're all fun to visit at least once!

It looks like a great trip. I have stayed at the Sands too, long long ago. I never realized Bernie was a 'tater guy - that's cool. I love all the pictures... I really need to start snapping more shots of my adventures too. Thanks for sharing! Glad you got your vacation and now for some days of relaxation from the vacation? :)

We prefer the funky old motels to the fancier (and more expensive ones) in most cases. It had a couple of drawbacks, but was perfectly fine! I did need the extra days off to recover from this one. I need to rest up for Nashville!

My God that man does look like Sanders - I don't know if he'd be offended, flattered or amused or bemused to know we think so but I thought that before reading your comparison. I have never been to Washington's fair coast! Oregon's was beautiful and for some reason so different - much more sand involved but this looks beautiful, too. Thanks!

It just cracked me up how much he looked like Sanders. As for the coast, I highly recommend a trip out there! It's very different from south to north. South is where they allow cars to drive on the beach (it's technically a state highway), and the towns have a somewhat touristy feel. Long Beach a little more so. The north coast is mostly part of Olympic National Park so it's very wild. Also much more rocky (a bit more like Oregon in spots). Either way you can't go wrong!
