That's Gneiss! #180 ~ Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes...
Plus: an announcement, and a really cool old neon sign
Hello friends,
As of today, I’ve managed to write 180 installments of this newsletter without missing a single week. That’s 3.46 years! When I started, my aim was to provide a distraction from the tedium of social media and the endless dire news. I believe that I have been successful!
I’ve also worn myself out.
I love collecting the fun information I share with you, and the occasional deep dives into a subject lead me down some interesting rabbit holes. I still have a list of topics I want to write about. Sometimes I spend almost all day on Sunday putting the newsletter together. This is fine and good in the winter when the weather is crummy, but now that spring is here I really don’t want to spend half of my weekend staring at the computer in this room. I already spend 40 hours a week in this room for work these days, and it’s also my craft room! I need to spend time elsewhere, preferably outdoors.
I sure miss camping. Maybe by the end of summer? Maybe? Maybe people will suddenly start making better decisions, even though the loosening restrictions send the message it’s okay to do more things? Not holding my breath, so I’ll enjoy the photos I’ve taken on previous adventures. Ahhhhh, Newhalem.
I digress.
I do like to write - need to write - and through the years I’ve blogged a bit here and there. I’ve decided to return to blogging and have revived Oh Schist!
Sorry about the geology pun, I can’t help myself. I’ve got rocks in my blood.
It’s not fancy, but will do just fine as a spot to share my thoughts. Just like this newsletter, you can sign up to receive emails that let you know when I’ve written something new. You can comment on posts, and there’s a contact form if you prefer to send a private message. I love hearing from you either way.
Posts will be shorter, more frequent, and not on any particular schedule. Topics will vary. Art, reading, plants, and the strange things I see while out and about in the neighborhood will definitely be there. I’ll share links to the strange and interesting things I find online, and write more in-depth posts from time to time. Pretty much what I’ve been doing here, only it will be more spontaneous. Less rigid to fit a weekly schedule.
This is very freeing.
Please hop on over there to check it out, and sign up to get email notifications for new posts. See ya’ there!
Oh Schist!
Thank you loyal readers for sticking with me. I appreciate knowing you’re out there, enjoying what I’ve written. This isn’t an ending, just a move to a new location. Change is good.
Cheers!
~Anne

Wow! I didn't realize it had been that long! The time and thoughtful care you put into it is staggering! It's surely been appreciated by me these past 3+ years. I'm happy to follow you to your blog and happy you'll get to spend more time outdoors...I'm looking forward to photos of all the wayward furniture and curiosities that cross your path. 💜
I'm here for the duration! Taking a break from self-imposed timelines is sometimes very healthy.
