Hello friends!
It’s been another busy week here in Quarantineville. I had the great good sense to take a vacation day on Friday, and am totally enjoying the extra-long weekend.
Rowland has been suffering from sore paws lately, and had managed to lick them into an horrible state. Normally when he has this issue he gets over it in a day or two, and gets back to normal quickly. This time was different. No matter how much we kept an eye on him during the day, he inevitably woke up in the middle of the night and licked himself back to a paw too sore to walk on. This meant we weren’t able to take him on walks for almost two weeks! Normally he gets two walks a day, so this got to be pretty sad for all of us.
Until a few days ago, when the Cone of Shame we ordered arrived.
Behold…
The cone worked wonders and within a couple of days we were out walking again! We’re keeping it on him pretty much most of the day and all night for now, with breaks to eat and go for walks. He’s a good sport and doesn’t fuss when we put it back on, and more important he’s been much happier and has really enjoyed his walks.
I’ve been very happy to get back out on the walks, and today I’m going to share with you some of the interesting sights I’ve seen as we’ve wandered the neighborhood.
Are you ready…?
First we have a handy solution to keep unwanted solicitors away. Only anti-social distancing at this house!
Baby not included.
“Hey honey - sneak that tire out with the recycling will you? Maybe they’ll just take it next week.”
An encouraging word for pregnant women!
Innovative services for unprecedented times.
Front yard frolic fest!
Fence frog!
I love this house.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the tour of the neighborhoods around our house! There’s so much to see, even close to home. In fact, this visitor was ON our home!
Take care of yourselves and be good to others.
See you next week!

WHAT IS THIS? It’s a very fine cover of a song I love dearly. The added surf/hot rod vibes are a great addition to an excellent tune.
How did I not know about this band before now? They are wonderfully weird - just what I need in my life right now! This next video is a psychedelic treat with funny ending. Enjoy!

What is you favorite body of water? Why?

Last week I asked if you have a Mount St. Helens story.
I do have a Mount Saint Helens story! Don’t get too excited.
The windows in our Sedro-Woolley home rattled loud enough to wake me and my sister (hey, it was Sunday).
Not an impressive or interesting one, but I do dimly remember my mother brushing an inch or so of ash off the car the next morning in western Wyoming.

Loved all your posts as usual, especially love seeing where you live and that bug!
I heard on the radio that cotton poly is better for masks than cotton, believe it or not! It’s all about them getting moist and humid....you’d think it would be the other way around, all I know is that our doctor/journalist guy is the most sensible and educated man we could wish for. Oh, he said surgical masks were the way to go, or even sanitary napkins. 😊
